SATAWU JOINS COSATU NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION
The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) supports and will take part in a protected COSATU National Day of Action on the 24th of August 2022. SATAWU also urges all its members and workers generally in this country to join this historic Day in their respective Provinces.
The union’s national strike is in response to ongoing load shedding, food prices, fuel hikes, high cost of living, and GBV.
The Marches will take place in all nine Provinces as follows:
Eastern Cape
Assembling Point: Victoria ground stadium in King Williams Town

Activity: Premier Mabuyane is expected to receive memorandum at 13:00

Activity: March to PRASA, to demand functional, timeous, accessible, affordable, and safe public transport.
This comes after a week of national young workers of this country took a stand and marched to the Union Buildings demanding End of Youth Unemployment, Stop Privatisation of SOE’s, End Load shedding, and other many other critical issues that the country is facing.
We once again wish to encourage our members and workers to participate in this National Day of Action next week on Wednesday, as it is protected.
