SATAWU SUPPORTS THE YOUNG WORKERS FORUM NATIONAL MARCH
The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) supports and commends the COSATU Young Workers Forum for the stand that they have taken. The Young Workers Forum will today the 12th of August 2022, be marching to the Union Buildings in Pretoria demanding the following:
• End Youth Unemployment
• Stop Privatisation of SOEs
• End Fuel and Electricity Hikes
• Permanent employment of newly qualified doctors and nurses
• End Load shedding and many other critical issues in the country.
The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union believes in young people and young workers of this country. The country is indeed facing several challenges that directly affect young people, just a few weeks ago eight young women were raped in Krugersdorp,in Gauteng. The union is fully behind our young people demanding Government to deal with challenges like these
harshly. One of the biggest challenges that young people come across with is unemployment and substance abuse.
We wish to assure our young Workers that they have our full support, and we will continue supporting them until we overcome these challenges.
