May 26, 2022Amanda TshemeseUncategorizedNo comments

For Immediate Release

26th May 2022

The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) , congratulates its former General Secretary(GS) Comrade Randall Howard for obtaining his Diploma in Transport Management with the University Of Johannesburg. Comrade Randall graduated yesterday the 25th of May 2022 during a graduation ceremony at the university.

The union believes that Cde Randall’s achievement will inspire SATAWU members, Staff, Young Workers, Shop Steward and Office Bearers in the labour movement , especially those located in the transport , security and cleaning sectors organised by SATAWU. The former GS’s academic achievement demonstrates the necessity to obtain specialised knowledge to advance the interests. Furthermore, the combination of both of formal and informal forms of education are essential for transforming the South African economy through the sectors in general and transport, security and cleaning sectors in particular.

We once again congratulate our former General Secretary Comrade Randall , and we wish him well in the future and we anticipate that his academic achievement will be used to transform the State Enterprise he is currently serving in to make the rail sector effective , efficient , reliable , safe and accessible to the majority of South African working class citizens.
