SATAWU CONDEMNS THE SHOOTING OF SECURITY GUARDS IN KWAZULU- NATAL

The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) condemns in the

strongest and highest possible terms the shooting of a security guard in IsiPhingo Kwa Zulu

Natal over the weekend. SATAWU notes that there has been a lot of security attacks in the

Province. On Monday two security guards were also victims of these criminals and were

shot dead in Kwa- Mashu. We call on our law enforcements to investigate these incidents

as they are not acceptable in our society.

It is believed that the security guard on his way to work in the morning at 06:30 am was

shot by unknown men, in an unidentified vehicle and the suspects fled the crime scene. The

victim sustained injuries.

SATAWU calls upon to anyone who might have information to approach law enforcements.

We would like to encourage our communities to report these brutal attacks and killings on

our security guards.

We send our deepest condolences to the affected families.
