SATAWU Signs Wage Agreement with Psira

June 26, 2018Zanele SabelaPress Releases46 comments

South African Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (SATAWU) has signed a one-year wage agreement with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (Psira) effective as of 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.

The agreement applies to Psira employees in the bargaining unit level A2 to C4 of the Paterson Grading system.

Parties agreed on a 7% basic salary increase backdated to 1 April 2018. A housing allowance of R500 has been introduced as of the same date. The car allowance for the 2018/2019 year, for those who qualify, will go up by 5.3% in line with National Treasury’s projected CPI rate. Car allowance will also be backdated to 1 April 2018.

Study leave will be reviewed to ensure all employees are entitled to two days for every subject written. Psira employees shall be entitled to four months maternity leave with three months fully paid. The Human Capital division will assist workers claim payment for the fourth month from the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).

Employees will be workshopped on how the Psira Pension Fund operates and on HR policies.

The Employers are Playing delaying tactics until the minimum wage bill comes into effect and you the unions are allowing them and i know for sure that us who are in area 1 are not going to benefit if the bill come into effect coz we will get an increase of 28 cent per hour which means an increase of R57.12 on the basic salary. I SEE STRIKE FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN AREA 1

Psira has sale us to be slaves of the Rich’s indirect, as long as we securities don’t strike and fight for valued salaries and rights as worker’s with respect. We don’t have bright future.

The bord of Psira must step down for pension and let youth handle their mistakes cause we can’t afford nothing in life because of their greediness and that is how criminalism is planted in humanity. Politicians, Artists, Artisan, Opareters and Drivers always strike for money but you even fail to give us cents we are valued for.

I want to know about NKP y is the salary for those who work in an NKP areas their salary is determined by PSIRA whereas NKP is for sasseta,y not sasseta determined NKP Officers salaries like for example cash solutions being determined by transport cause we are robbed us NKP Officers

This is so disappointing Psira does not respect security officers hence they risk their lives making sure that company clients are kept happy and safeguarded at all times. The salary they get is not enough not even for transport, negotiations on the wage increase are taking forever we are now in mid October and none is being shared within the industry on the increase.
