May 30, 2018Zanele SabelaPassenger (Prasa), Press Releases, Rail1 comment

SATAWU has signed a one-year wage agreement with Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA).

Following months of negotiation the parties finally reached a settlement of 8% across the board on total guaranteed package effective as of 1 April, 2018 to 30 March, 2019.

SATAWU inked the deal on coming back from a nationwide roadshow during which it consulted members on the offer.

The agreement also stipulates there will be no retrenchments of permanent staff for the duration of the agreement.
